Are You Getting Enough Sleep to Stay Slim?
Burning the candle at both ends actually contributes to weight gain! Why? Lack of sleep! That's just one of the many subjects recently covered by Catherine Rudat in the first hour of The Dr. Carol Show, KCOX-AM and on-line at DrCarolShow.com, where she discusses current health topics every Monday afternoon at 12:30 Pacific Time. And if you miss the live broadcast, the show is also available online and as a podcast. Catherine Rudat is a graduate of Dr. Pat Allen's WANT Institute, a Certified ASR Coach, and corporate and personal health and wellness expert.
The Man From Mars AND Venus
Jim Hallowes, the Executive Director of the WANT Institute, says he ran into Dr. John Gray over at the annual Natural Products Expo West in Anaheim recently. You may know him as the author of the Men Are From Mars books which do a wonderful job of explaining the differences between men and women, and ways they communicate. He also styles himself as (next to me, of course) the world's greatest relationship expert. Okay, modesty is not one of John's weaknesses.
So Jim says they talked for a few minutes and he praised our work and then admitted he himself is a highly sensitive person, and that he's even included HSP information in his new book, "Venus on Fire, Mars on Ice"
(his 17th!) which examines hormonal balance as one of the keys to a successful relationship, and explains the science behind good and bad communication and how it's affected by stress hormones. He's witty and will have you chuckling throughout.
John had a PBS Special a few months ago. But now he's excited about a new workshop series on relationships, looking at dating nerves and starting over in later life, and how stress can impact your relationships in unsuspecting ways. He knows that HSPs sometimes have difficulties in approaching the opposite sex, because they "seize up" or just get overwhelmed with emotions, and even find flirting as difficult as learning a foreign language.
His approach is very appealing, because it's based on using your imagination to look at your feelings; if getting a date was really easy for you, how would that feel? Would you be excited about having a date on Saturday night? He then shows you how to take your imaginings and turn them into a reality, following a program of simple steps to make a date successful.
He says you can improve your dating skills by "upgrading your mental computer."
John's "Mars Venus On a Date" workshops are available online, and designed for both singles and dating partners, as well as married couples who want to rekindle romance by "dating" again. John simplifies the elements of a great date and shows you how to be pro-active, so that you can once again (or for the very first time!) experience passion, romance, and the excitement that comes at the start of a new relationship.
Here's a tip: John's offering absolutely free a special ebook on "5 Keys To Finding True Love" just for visiting his website. It's filled with tips to help you not only get your new relationship off to a healthy start, but especially how to avoid pitfalls that can so easily turn a promising romance into a disaster.
And check out the rest of his website to see how he explains how to successfully make your way through the Five Stages of Dating from attraction to uncertainty, then into exclusivity and on to intimacy:
- The different reasons men and women decide to get married
- The basic principles of attracting the Right Person for You
- How to make sure you don't unwittingly turn off the opposite sex
- The 4 stages of intimacy — physical, emotional, mental & spiritual
- How to Bring Out the Best in Your Partner to Bring out the Best in You
What a range of information, and remember that John Gray has been leading couples into intimate relationships for many years now. If you want to really get into the basics of human sexual relationships, he's a powerhouse of information. And remember, the ebook is absolutely free just for visiting his page.

Every Woman's Hidden Weakness
Do you know the most common problem faced by women of all ages? It's that they are frequently too hard on themselves. Your profound sense of responsibilitiy and commitment often can overpower your sense of self and cause you to neglect your own well-being and even hurt your lhealth.
No matter how successful, accomplished or self-actualized you are, many women still have a nagging "voice" in the back of their mind that criticizes them continually:
- "It's just not good enough"
- "You need to please others"
- "It's too late for me to find love"
- "You got to be perfect in everything you do"
- "I have to do more...do it better...FASTER..."
Why do so many women keep grading themselves with a "C" or a "D-minus" or even a failing "F"? It's because ...
